GENDER IN TECHNOLOGY
A Conversation to Discuss the Following:
- Why are there such major gender disparities at tech conferences?
- Why is it that readership of gadget blogs skews 70/30 male/female?
- Is the skew perpetuated by the tech community (e.g. all male speakers at FOWA 2006), or are larger cultural issues (e.g. stigma associated with female geeks) responsible?
- Is this a problem? If so, what steps can we take to alleviate it?
- Should we have a panel of "experts" or just discussion?
